Reside Living

BRAND DESIGN

Having turned their shared passions into an exciting new business, Reside Living needed brand identity and more to get fully underway on their incredible journey.

Travel ~ Friendship ~ Style

A trio of pillars ready to form brand culture and identity.

Following Covid-19 travel restrictions and huge encouragement from friends & family, best friends and founders Mic, Mel and Michelle recently decided to turn a favourite pastime - travelling and sourcing beautiful items to bring back for their homes - into a start up homeware business.

Three clear values stood out to me when I took on the project - Travel, Friendship and Style. On top of this, I was aware that trinities of women in various cultures (including those in Mic, Mel and Michelle’s own) have traditionally been a very powerful thing. I explored these aspects, along with the three mediums of travel (Land, Sea and Air) and triangles as the strongest shape ∆ , to create three different brand routes.

In signature Brightleaf style, I embraced and explored cultural nuggets within the brief in order to create distinctive, ownable brand design.

Balancing warmth and clarity:

The clients expressed clearly that although their home decor products could be described as boho, coastal or even tribal in some cases, the Reside Living branding needed to be clean, contemporary and minimalist in appearance.

We worked together to balance the Reside brand architecture with the Reside boho-scandi decor, creating a calming, clear and warming culture for customers to embrace.

Core & Subrange Branding:

As the branding project progressed, we needed to leave room for Reside to bloom and grow - potentially into areas other than just home decor.

By positioning the main brand as Reside, and the homeware denomination as Reside Living, other subranges could confidently follow suite - i.e Reside Cuisine - in the future.

Reside Living - the understated power of three close women working together.

The clients loved the final result, commissioning me to create a website and social media presence following the branding project.
